Summary: The Purchasing Agent will work directly with Customers, both Internal and External as well as our Suppliers in the handling of all material from purchasing to sale.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following (Other duties may be assigned).

  • Work with the Purchasing Manager to order and maintain inventory.
  • Work with the sales and service department to have all parts available at the start of all jobs.
  • Diligently work to see that any parts brought in for a job but not used are returned to vendor for credit. This to be coordinated with Purchasing Manager to determine if items can be put in stock for future use.
  • Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions.
  • Track, investigate and expedite outstanding purchase orders.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain interface with our Suppliers to ensure high quality products, expedient delivery and dependable service at optimum pricing.
  • Process acknowledgements and monitor inventory and create part numbers as needed
  • Handle discrepancies and ensure timely resolutions
  • Generate various reports and administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist as needed with cycle counts.
  • Assist shipping/receiving to pick and stock parts as needed.
  • Always keep a watchful eye to see that all inventory has a dedicated bin location and is received to that location or to jobs as appropriate.

  • 1+ year in purchasing
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • PMP, CPP, or CPPC certifications preferred
